Cannabinoids are a group of compounds found in the cannabis flower. When consumed, cannabinoids mimic the body’s naturally occurring endocannabinoids, which help to maintain the body’s health and homeostasis. There are over 60 cannabinoids in cannabis, classified into two broad categories: psychoactive and non-psychoactive. CBD is the most abundant cannabinoid and constitutes roughly 40% of cannabis resin.
The fibres and stalks serve as raw material for hemp clothing, construction materials, paper, biofuel, plastic composites, and more. Hemp seeds are used in the production of hemp seed oil, a high-quality vegetable oil. The oil from its seeds and flowers are used in health foods, organic body care, and other nutraceuticals. In recent years there is increasing interest in the therapeutic potential of CBD, which causes no psychotropic effects. Only a few clinical studies have been conducted so far, but basic research suggests a potential therapeutic use in a large number of diseases and symptoms.
CBD and Industrial Hemp
Cannabidiol is the primary cannabinoid of fibre cannabis or industrial hemp. Both hemp and marijuana come from the same cannabis species, but are genetically distinct and have different uses, chemical makeup, and cultivation methods. Hemp is one of the oldest domesticated crops known to man. It has been used for paper, textiles, and cordage for thousands of years. The oldest relic of human industry is a scrap of hemp fabric dating back to approximately 8,000 BC.
CBD is one of the many compounds contained in the cannabis plant. CBD is non-intoxicating and lacks euphoric effects. CBD has been found to have many beneficial therapeutic effects, with minimal side-effects.
The Endocannabinoid System (ECS)
The endocannabinoid system (ECS) consists of cannabinoid receptors, endocannabinoid molecules, and their metabolic enzymes. It is a recently discovered, yet crucial regulatory system that the body uses to help maintain homeostasis. Your body naturally produces endocannabinoids. Phytocannabinoids are the equivalent cannabinoid molecules produced from the cannabis plant. CB1 receptors are primarily found in the brain and central nervous system, while CB2 receptors are mostly in the secondary organs — especially in the cells associated with the immune system.
The hemp plant produces over 100 different phytonutrients and phytocannabinoids. When these components interact, their effects are amplified and work best when used together. This is called “The Entourage Effect.” Recent studies have shown that “whole plant” medicine, utilizing all of the available cannabinoids and terpenes, is more effective and has a more holistic effect on the body. Satisan products naturally contain a variety of beneficial phytocannabinoids and phytonutrients. In addition to CBD, we extract as many good, beneficial compounds found naturally in the hemp plant as possible, to better harness this synergistic effectiveness.
Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), are both a series of international standards that ensure that wellness, supplement, and cosmetic products are consistently produced and controlled to the quality standards appropriate to their intended use.
The safest and most reliable pharmaceutical-quality products also meet these international standards. Under GMP and ISO, Satisan’s production and testing processes are clearly documented and archived for quality assurance.
Non-Intoxicating THC “Free”
All Satisan products are derived from hemp, which under US legal standards requires 0.3% or less of THC. This insures that these products are non-psychoactive and do not pose a risk of becoming ‘high’. Unlike THC, CBD does not have any psychoactive effects, and all Satisan products are non-intoxicating.
Broad spectrum CBD products are completely free of THC, because the THC molecules have been removed from the CBD oil. You still get all of the natural benefits from the hemp plant, without a trace of THC.
Broad Spectrum Cannabinoids
As mentioned in the “Entourage/Synergistic Effect” section above, there are over 100 identified cannabinoids in the hemp plant. When the oil is extracted from the plant, all of the phytonutrients, terpenes, cannabinoids, and other good plant matter is also extracted. This is known as full spectrum extract.
We take this one step further by removing the THC molecules from the full spectrum extract to create a THC-free oil, called broad spectrum extract. This way, you get all of the beneficial plant compounds, the synergistic effect of all the cannabinoids working together, and terpenes, without a trace of THC.
Proudly formulated and produced in the USA
Provenance can tell us a lot about a product.
Designed in Colorado: Cannabis innovation. The State of Colorado in the USA was the first major geographic region on the planet to make cannabis consumption fully legal since prohibition. We have been innovators in hemp and CBD products for over a decade.
Made in the USA: Craftsmanship, precision, attention to detail, quality, integrity, and trust. GMP/ISO certified production facilities in the USA are absolutely state-of-the-art. We are proud to have Satisan products manufactured in the USA, to be enjoyed across the country.
GLP is a set of international principles intended to assure the quality and integrity of non-clinical laboratory studies to support research. Satisan products are manufactured to the highest quality standards and our manufacturers are GMP/GLP certified.
We thoroughly test our products in critical analysis to ensure potency, consistency and purity. We test not only percentages of CBD, but also the presence of other cannabinoids, heavy metals, and pesticides to insure full regulatory compliance and consumer safety.
